Microsoft Employees Disrupt Wii U Best Buy EventsRemember how Nintendo was showcasing some of their E3 games at participating Best Buy stores around the country? Well, apparently Microsoft employees have been hired to go to these events and preach about the Xbox One and make comments like "why would you buy a outdated Wii U when the Xbox One is right around the corner?"
However, the employees aren't getting what they hoped for. Most customers just start bashing the Xbox One in response. Seriously, Microsoft, the people attending these Best Buy Wii U events are people who are intimately familiar with the crap you pulled at E3. They ain't takin' your shit.
At first I thought this might just be a case of one really loyal Microsoft employee taking matters into his own hands (especially since the original source was /v/), but reports have come in from numerous Best Buy's around the country that indicate many Microsoft employees have ambushed the demo lines trying to persuade people to switch to the Xbox One.

There are two ways to write a novel. Plotting (you make an outline, a plan, a roadmap if you will, and then you sit down and write it) and pantsing (you write "by the seat of your pants, throwing caution to the wind). So when I get asked if I'm a plotter or a pantser, I'm all like er, uh, hold on, let me? Pantser? I think? But I kind of, um, do planny things?
And it gets kind of awkward because in these inarticulate moments I have managed to confuse everyone including myself. And probably spilled a drink.
In recent discussions, however, I've had a bit of a revelation, silly as it is. I've realized that I -- like many writers -- am a plotter/pantser hybrid. And perhaps what I'm doing is something we could call Pantsing Responsibly. And, maybe, just maybe, I could share some of my responsible pantsing tips with other writers. Starting with paper notebooks.

The Used Game ParadigmOver the course of this past generation I've been watching the video game market react to the way it's been forced to deal with increasing changes. I've come out against used game sales and even written a journal about boycotting GameStop because (like most people at the time) I believed they were the root cause of all the problems the video game industry has. But that's something I don't believe now as intently as i did then. From where I sit, piracy and used games sales are a problem, but not in the way game companies want us to believe that they are.
Used games are a good thing for consumers. We get to try games out, and if we don't like what we see or finish it early, we trade it in and try another title instead. It's a very good system for us since video game rentals are much harder to come by. I figured I needed a journal update since it's been... a while, fff.

Firstly, LEOPETS APPLICATIONS ARE OPEN! :'D I know a few of you have expressed interest in joining in the past, and we've finally opened apps again~ You should all go apply, I'd love to get more friends in! Leo is a wonderful community devoted to the old version of Neo. We accept custom, user-made pets and colors, and there's a lot of freedom in regards to swearing and things that aren't appropriate for neo. We've been updating a lot of stuff lately so Leo is more awesome than ever and you should all definitely apply to join :> Plus the system has changed a bit! The plan is now to let in more frequent but smaller batches of applicants so it's a steady stream over the year. Don't get discouraged if you don't get in right away, because you might later!

Anyway in other news, uhh let's see. I've been mad busy lately. Finished my first semester of school, so I only have one left of high school ever. Kind of a nice feeling but I'm also really kind of terrified! I haven't heard back from my first choice college yet, yikes, but no one else has, so it isn't just me. Slightly a more comforting thought. Lots of my days are spent doing homework or working so that explains the distinct lack of art lately. Sorry. ene

I finished A Feast for Crows in terms of books, and gahlsekhasleh Mr. Martin is evil. Evil and awful. I have to wait until March to get the paperback version of A Dance with Dragons, so I'm going to spend the next month and a half screaming every time someone mentions GoT, because wow just SO MUCH HAPPENS AND I DON'T KNOW HOW TO DEAL WITH IT?? Books, man, books. I'm currently reading The Perks of Being a Wallflower so that's a happy. :>

Other than that... man my life has been really boring and really quiet lately sob. Half of my weekends are spent working, the other half is watching Doctor Who or Merlin reruns and derping about. Speaking of Merlin, still haven't seen the finale yet shhhshhhhh. I know I'm ridiculously behind. I'm trying. /cries quietly

1 and 2 are tame, I think; for me, the story didn't really get going until about the third one! The first two are a lot of getting the story into place and setting things up, establishing the families and whatnot. They aren't bad, of course, I just prefer the latter ones for more action. c:

No no okay I'm a little overdramatic but. I have a lot of feelings regarding that show and of course no spoilers but I can go on and on about it. The first two seasons are all happy-happy feels and then you walk into season 3 and BAM everything comes down around you and you'll be going "Why did I watch this show, it looked so carefree and happy and now WHAT HAVE I GOTTEN MYSELF INTO??" It's definitely worth it though, so so worth it, just be ready for a lot of feelings post-season 2. ono
