I was Newt on Friday for the con, and I was equally surprised and disappointed that I was the only Pacific Rim cosplayer walking around all day! I literally couldn't find anyone else from the movie, which was super disappointing, but I did get recognized by a few people. The sleeves were made from acrylics painted onto standard women's pantyhose, cut down to be able to slip on and off of my arms. Each one took about 2.5 hours in terms of cutting, painting, and detailing, but they were really easy to wear and actually pretty comfortable!
